Thanksgiving this year was very different because of the pandemic. We had a very small dinner of 5 people. Safety was very much thought out. We all wore a mask the entire time which we only took off when we ate. We had the windows open and ate at different sections of the house. Despite this, I was still very nervous as my pod is really only with Mr Sweetie. Thankfully we are all healthy and safe two weeks after Thanksgiving.
I cooked prime rib instead of turkey. It was medium rare and could have stayed a little bit longer in the oven but the boys were really excited to eat. It was quite a hit along with the sides.

I made mashed potatoes, gravy and sauteed brussel sprouts. We also had rolls while Caitlin brought biscuits. Everything was good. Those brussel sprouts were so good that Mr Sweetie and I kept on popping them in our mouth. We had to stop before we almost did not have any left for the guests. LOL!

For dessert Mr Sweetie bought apple pie and pumpkin pie from Costco. I also made banana breads. I just threw everything together that morning, and I am glad that Thanksgiving dinner was a success with plenty of food left. For my reward, Mr Sweetie gave me a bottle of my favorite wine from one of my favorite wineries in Napa Valley that I drank while cooking.
This Thanksgiving was unique, fraught with worries and challenges because of the constant threat of the virus. However, I am very grateful for every person and every blessing in my life.
With Christmas and New Year around the corner, please continue to be safe and healthy, and have a blessed holiday season!

Don’t worry vaccine is out and soon we will again experience what we normally enjoy. For now, let’s just consider the physical distancing a new experience to enjoy.
